Bowling a maiden over in T20 cricket — six consecutive dot balls — is one of the rarest and most skillful achievements in the format. With batting powerplays, flat pitches and some of the world's best hitters in the crease, maiden overs are extraordinary events in the IPL. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Praveen Kumar jointly hold the all-time record with 14 maiden overs each. Bhuvi's swing and seam movement, combined with his ability to read batsmen, has made him the most consistently threatening powerplay bowler in IPL history. Trent Boult's 11 maidens and Irfan Pathan's 10 complete the top four. Most of the leaders in this list are pace bowlers who use swing and seam to deny batsmen scoring opportunities in the first six overs.
